In reply to <a href="https://anglerwise.com/how-big-do-rainbow-trout-get/#comment-3463">Miss Anne</a>.

Hi Miss Anne! Great question. A 20 lb rainbow trout would be a remarkable catch! Reservoir rainbows tend to live longer than stream fish due to stable conditions and abundant food. Trophy-sized fish like that are typically in the 10-14 year range, so 11 years is a very reasonable estimate. If it was a steelhead-strain rainbow, they tend to grow larger and live longer than typical hatchery or resident rainbows. Amazing catch either way!

Hi Sigfredo! Yes, the Lowrance TripleShot Skimmer Transducer is compatible with the Hook 7. It uses the same blue connector that fits the Hook 7 series. The TripleShot gives you CHIRP sonar, DownScan, and SideScan all in one transducer, which is a great upgrade. Just make sure you're running the latest software on your Hook 7 to get the best performance out of it. Tight lines!

Hi Denis! To set your Hook 5 to Course Up mode, press the Pages button → go to Chart → then press Menu → select Chart Options → look for Orientation and change it from North Up to Course Up. The display will then rotate to show your direction of travel pointing upward. Hope that helps and tight lines!
