I don’t know about you, but it seems to me that more men/boys like fishing than women/girls. Every time I visit a fishing dock, about 90% – 100% of the anglers are men/boys. I can’t help but wonder why. Here are some of my theories:
(1) Traditionally males where considered the providers for their family group. I think it is possible that the mentality got passed on to the men and boys of today. Even though fishing is more of a recreational sport today, maybe men/boys subconsciously feel that they are providing food for the table.
(2) In our society, I would say, fishing is more associated with men/boys. Maybe women/girls subconsciously steer clear of fishing because they want to be more feminine and woman like.
(3) Maybe the men are purposely leaving their women (wives, daughters, etc.) at home so they can take a little break from the feminine craziness like nagging and mood swings (among other things that I dare not mention on this blog). Lol!
I love and respect the women in my life (wife and daughter), so don’t think I have something against women. I am simply making observations. My theories may or may not be right.

I think you’re right James, even though we love the women in our lives, we still need a little break once in while to go fishing.
